BMP to AVIF questions
How do I convert BMP to AVIF?
Add your BMP files with the box above, check that AVIF is selected in Convert to, and press Download. The conversion happens in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.
Will converting BMP to AVIF lower the quality?
AVIF is a lossy format, so the picture is compressed again when it is saved. Keep the quality between 85 and 95 and the result looks the same as the BMP for almost every photo.
What happens to transparency when I convert BMP to AVIF?
BMP has no see-through areas, so there is nothing to carry over.
Can I convert many BMP files at once?
Yes. Add up to 50 files together, then download them one by one or as a single ZIP.
Is my BMP file uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser on your own device, and your files are never sent to a server. Camera details and GPS location are not carried into the new file.
