Crop BMP images in your browser
BMP (Bitmap) is an uncompressed format from older Windows software. Most apps open it, but the files are very large, so websites rarely accept it. This BMP cropper lets you drag a box, lock an aspect ratio, type exact pixels, rotate, flip and straighten, then copy, share or download the result. Nothing is uploaded.
How to crop a BMP image
- Drop your BMP file onto the page, press Choose image, or paste a picture.
- Pick an aspect ratio, or leave it on Free. Drag the box and its handles, or type exact pixel values.
- Check the live preview under the picture. Open Output and guides to change the format, quality or width.
- Press Copy, Share or Download to get your cropped image.
BMP cropping questions
How do I crop a BMP image?
Add your BMP file with the box above, drag the box or type exact pixel values, check the live preview and press Download. Everything runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.
Will cropping lower the quality of a BMP?
Cropping only removes pixels, so what is left of your BMP keeps every detail it had. Nothing is resampled unless you set an output width.
Is the cropped BMP saved as BMP?
The cropper saves PNG, JPEG or WebP. A BMP is saved as PNG by default, and you can choose JPEG or WebP under Output and guides.
What happens to transparency in a BMP?
BMP has no see-through areas. If you crop to a circle or rounded shape and save as PNG or WebP, the corners become see-through. A JPEG uses your background colour instead.
