All image resizers by format

Every image format has its own page, like JPG Resizer or WebP Resizer. Pick one to open it.

An image resizer that shows you the result first

Drop a picture, set a size and see the result at once. Everything runs in your browser, so it is private and there is nothing to wait for.

  • Live preview. The result updates as you change a setting. Switch between Resized and Original, and see the new dimensions, file size and how much smaller or larger it is.
  • Three ways to set the size. Enter pixels for one or both sides, scale by percent, or pick a preset such as an Instagram post, a YouTube thumbnail, a link preview image, Full HD or A4 at 300 dpi.
  • Keeps proportions, or not. Fill in one side and the other follows. With both sides filled and proportions locked, the picture fits inside the box. Unlock them to choose Crop to fill, Fit with padding, Fit inside or Stretch.
  • Stays sharp when shrinking. Big reductions are done in several smaller steps instead of one jump, which avoids the jagged edges and shimmer you get from a single resize.
  • Hit a file size limit. Set a largest file size in KB for JPEG or WebP and the quality is lowered just enough to stay under it. If that is not possible, the tool tells you instead of failing quietly.
  • Many images at once. Drop up to 50 images, check each one, and press Download all to get a single ZIP with every result.
  • Convert while you resize. Keep the original format or save as JPEG, PNG or WebP. See-through areas get the background colour you choose when the result is a JPEG.
  • Drop, choose or paste. Drag files onto the page, pick them from your device, or paste a screenshot with Ctrl or Cmd + V. It works with touch on phones and tablets.

Image resizing questions

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. Every step happens inside your browser tab, and your pictures are never sent to a server. Closing the tab removes them.

Will resizing reduce the quality?

Making a picture smaller keeps it sharp because it is reduced in steps. Making it larger cannot add detail, so a big enlargement looks soft. Turn on Never enlarge to keep small images as they are.

What is the difference between Crop to fill and Fit with padding?

Both give you exactly the size you asked for. Crop to fill scales the picture until it covers the whole area and trims what sticks out. Fit with padding keeps the whole picture and fills the leftover space with your background colour.

How do I make an image under a certain file size?

Choose JPEG or WebP, type the largest size in KB, and the tool lowers the quality just enough to fit. For more savings, also reduce the width and height. PNG is lossless, so a limit does not apply to it.

Does it keep EXIF data such as location?

No. The result is drawn fresh and saved without camera details or GPS location, which is helpful before sharing a photo. The photo is turned the right way up before it is resized.

Which image types can I open?

PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, BMP and AVIF, plus SVG in most browsers. Animated GIFs keep every frame and their timing, and download as animated GIFs. HEIC and HEIF photos from an iPhone work too. They are converted to a high quality JPEG in your browser before you edit them.

Why was my WebP saved as PNG?

A few older browsers cannot write WebP. The tool notices this and saves a PNG instead, and shows a note so you know.

Is there a size limit?

Each file can be up to 50 MB, up to 50 files at a time, and the result can be up to 16,384 pixels on the longest side. Very large pictures use a lot of memory, so phones may manage fewer.
