Compress SVG Online
SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) is a vector format that stays sharp at any size. Browsers and design tools open it, but many upload forms only accept picture files. This SVG compressor shows the new file size live, lets you compare before and after, can hit a file size limit and handles up to 50 images at once. Nothing is uploaded.
How to compress a SVG image
- Drop your SVG files onto the page, press Choose images, or paste a picture.
- Pick a quality, or set a file size limit such as under 200 KB.
- Drag the divider to compare the original with the compressed image. Open Settings for the format, colors or longest side.
- Press Download for the current image, or Download all to get every image in one ZIP file.
SVG compression questions
How do I compress a SVG image?
Add your SVG files with the box above, set the quality, a file size limit or a smaller longest side, compare the result with the original and press Download. Everything runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.
How much smaller will my SVG get?
An SVG is drawn at its own size and saved as a picture, so it only gets smaller when the picture is simpler than the vector file. For SVG code itself, a minifier is the better tool.
Is the compressed SVG saved as SVG?
The compressor saves JPEG, WebP or PNG. A SVG is saved as PNG with Same format, and you can choose Auto, JPEG or WebP in Settings for a smaller file.
What happens to transparency in a SVG?
See-through areas stay see-through when the result is a PNG or WebP. A JPEG cannot be see-through, so those areas are filled with white.
What size is the converted SVG?
The SVG is drawn at its own width and height and saved as a picture. Vector shapes become pixels, so enlarge the SVG first if you need a bigger result.
