Resize HEIC images in your browser
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is the default photo format on iPhone and iPad. It opens on Apple devices, but many Windows apps, websites and upload forms cannot read it. This HEIC resizer shows the new size and file size live, keeps proportions, can hit a file size limit and handles up to 50 images at once. Nothing is uploaded.
How to resize a HEIC image
- Drop your HEIC files onto the page, press Choose images, or paste a picture.
- Pick how to set the size: Pixels, Percent or Preset.
- Check the live preview and the numbers under it. Open Settings for the format, quality or a file size limit.
- Press Download for the current image, or Download all to get every image in one ZIP file.
HEIC resizing questions
How do I resize a HEIC image?
Add your HEIC files with the box above, set a width and height, a percent or a preset, check the live preview and press Download. Everything runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.
Will resizing lower the quality of a HEIC?
Making a HEIC smaller keeps it sharp because it is reduced in steps. Lossy formats are compressed again when saved, and you can set the quality and a largest file size in Settings.
Is the resized HEIC saved as HEIC?
HEIC is opened by converting it to a high quality JPEG in your browser, so the result is a JPEG unless you choose PNG or WebP in Settings.
What happens to transparency in a HEIC?
See-through areas stay see-through when the result is a PNG or WebP. A JPEG cannot be see-through, so those areas get the background colour you choose.
Why does my iPhone photo not open or upload?
iPhones save photos as HEIC to keep files small, and many apps and websites do not understand it. Converting to a common format fixes it, and your original stays untouched.
