Crop JPG images in your browser
JPG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) is the most widely supported photo format. It opens in every browser, app and device. This JPG cropper lets you drag a box, lock an aspect ratio, type exact pixels, rotate, flip and straighten, then copy, share or download the result. Nothing is uploaded.
How to crop a JPG image
- Drop your JPG file onto the page, press Choose image, or paste a picture.
- Pick an aspect ratio, or leave it on Free. Drag the box and its handles, or type exact pixel values.
- Check the live preview under the picture. Open Output and guides to change the format, quality or width.
- Press Copy, Share or Download to get your cropped image.
JPG cropping questions
How do I crop a JPG image?
Add your JPG file with the box above, drag the box or type exact pixel values, check the live preview and press Download. Everything runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.
Will cropping lower the quality of a JPG?
Cropping only removes pixels, so what is left of your JPG is not resampled unless you set a width. Lossy formats are compressed again when saved, so keep the quality high for the best result.
Is the cropped JPG saved as JPG?
Yes. With Format set to Original, a JPG goes in and a JPG comes out. You can also choose PNG, JPEG or WebP under Output and guides.
What happens to transparency in a JPG?
JPG has no see-through areas. If you crop to a circle or rounded shape and save as PNG or WebP, the corners become see-through. A JPEG uses your background colour instead.
