Image Crop Online
Drop a picture, draw a box and see the result at once. Everything runs in your browser, so it is private and there is nothing to wait for.
- Draw, drag and resize. Drag on the picture to draw a new area, drag the box to move it, and pull any of the eight handles to resize it. It works with touch on phones and tablets too.
- Lock an aspect ratio. Pick Free, Original, or a ratio such as 1:1, 4:3, 16:9, 9:16 or 21:9. Type your own ratio, or swap it to turn the shape on its side.
- Exact numbers. Edit X, Y, width and height in pixels, and the box moves as you type. Nudge it with the arrow keys, hold Shift for 10 pixels, or hold Alt to resize from the centre.
- Rotate, flip and straighten. Turn the picture in 90 degree steps, mirror it, or straighten a crooked horizon by up to 45 degrees. With Avoid empty corners on, the box stays on the picture while you straighten.
- Round and circle crops. Crop to a rectangle, a rounded rectangle or a circle. Round shapes stay see-through in PNG and WebP, which suits profile pictures and avatars.
- Auto-trim. Press Trim to cut away a solid colour or transparent border in one click, such as the white edge around a screenshot or a logo.
- Copy, share or download. Copy the result straight to your clipboard, Share it with another app on your phone, or Download it as PNG, JPEG or WebP. You can also paste an image in with Ctrl or Cmd + V.
- Undo and redo. Every move, resize, rotation and flip is remembered. Press Ctrl or Cmd + Z to step back and Shift + Z to step forward.
- Built for developers. Copy the exact crop box as an ImageMagick or FFmpeg command, a Sharp or Pillow call, a CSS clip-path or plain JSON.

Image cropping questions
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. Every step happens inside your browser tab, and your picture is never sent to a server. Closing the tab removes it.
Does cropping reduce the quality?
Cropping only removes pixels, so what is left is not resampled unless you choose a width. PNG is lossless. JPEG and WebP are compressed again when saved, so keep the quality high for the best result.
How do I crop a circle?
Choose Circle under Shape and pick a 1:1 ratio for a perfect circle. Download as PNG or WebP to keep the corners transparent. JPEG cannot be transparent, so the corners use your background colour.
How do I straighten a crooked photo?
Move the Straighten slider until the horizon looks level. Leave Avoid empty corners on and the crop box shrinks to the largest area that has no gaps. Double click the slider to reset it.
What does Auto-trim do?
It looks at the colour of the top left corner and cuts away every outer row and column that matches it, or is transparent. It works well on screenshots, logos and scans with a plain border.
Why are the numbers different after I rotate?
The box is measured on the rotated, flipped picture, because that is what you see. The developer snippets say so when this applies, so apply the same rotation first.
Does it keep EXIF data such as location?
No. The result is drawn fresh and saved without camera details or GPS location, which is helpful before sharing a photo. The photo is turned the right way up before you crop it.
Which image types can I open?
PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, BMP and AVIF, plus SVG in most browsers. Animated GIFs stay animated. Every frame is cropped and the result downloads as a GIF. HEIC and HEIF photos from an iPhone work too. They are converted to a high quality JPEG in your browser before you edit them.
Why does Copy not work for me?
Copying an image needs a modern browser and a secure page, and some browsers ask for permission. If it is blocked, use Download or Share instead.
